Life

Jack Douglas first appeared as a musician. In 1965 he traveled with a friend to Liverpool , where they were refused entry due to the lack of a visa and the Liverpool newspapers only reported on "Two crazy Yanks ".

After his return to the United States, he recorded an album of the same name with the band Privilege in 1969 . He then worked in the New York Record Plant recording studio, where he worked his way up from caretaker to sound engineer. There he was later involved in recordings for Miles Davis , The James Gang , Alice Cooper , Cheap Trick , Montrose , Rough Cutt and Artful Dodger , among others .

After Lennon's death, the planned follow-up album Milk and Honey was not released until 1984 and Jack Douglas was not mentioned as a co-producer, although he was involved in the production of several titles. A dispute with Yoko Ono over unpaid royalties later ended in court.

In the 1970s Douglas produced several albums for the band Aerosmith , including Get Your Wings (1974), Toys in the Attic (1975), Rocks (1976) and Draw the Line (1977). After a short hiatus, Douglas produced the album Rock in a Hard Place for Aerosmith in 1982 . The follow-up albums were implemented by other producers, but in 2004 Douglas produced the Aerosmith album Honkin 'on Bobo . The band's 15th album, Music from Another Dimension! , was produced by Douglas.
