Athletic career
On his 17th birthday, Jack Hobbs signed a contract with Liverpool FC - the club he had been a member of as a child. Before that point, Hobbs had only played professional football (at Lincoln City ) for three minutes . In 2006 he became captain of the reserve team of the "Reds" and won the English FA Youth Cup with the youth team in the same year .
On September 25, 2007 Hobbs made his debut in the A-team. He was substituted on in the Carling Cup game against Reading FC in the 90th minute - the Reds won 4-2. In the next round of the competition Hobbs played against Cardiff City for the first time both at Anfield and from the start, helping Liverpool to a 2-1 win. After a first substitution against Bolton Wanderers on December 2, 2007 (4-0), he came six days later for the first time from the start in the Premier League and lost the last game against Reading FC with 1: 3.
On January 24, 2008 he was loaned to Scunthorpe United for the remainder of the season . In July, the young defender returned to Liverpool to prepare for the upcoming season with the Reds. Another loan deal followed, which took Hobbs to the third division at Leicester City . There he quickly became an important part of the defense formation of the "Foxes" and led the team over the third division championship to the second-rate Football League Championship . In addition, the players' union PFA nominated him for Team of the Year in Football League One ; in addition, his own supporters voted him the best young professional in Leicester City. On April 24, 2009, Hobbs finally signed a four-year contract with the newcomer - it was agreed not to disclose the amount of the transfer fee to Liverpool FC.
