Jack Mills

Jack Mills († May 24, 2005 in Gloucester , Gloucestershire, England) was a production designer .

Life

Mills began his career in film crew in 1947 as production designer on several in the same year resulting fuzzy - Western . By the late 1940s he had worked on a dozen films. He stayed true to the western in the years that followed. He seldom worked on other genres, including Fritz Lang's crime film The Beast , the adventure film Clarence, the cross-eyed lion and the agent thriller Eisstation Zebra .

In 1966 Mills was for the Western That Was the Wild West by directors John Ford , Henry Hathaway , George Marshall and Richard Thorpe along with George W. Davis , William Ferrari , Addison Hehr , Henry Grace and Don Greenwood junior for the Oscar in the category Best Production design nominated, but this year the award went to the monumental film Cleopatra .

Mills also worked on numerous television productions between 1953 and 1967. Among other things, he worked on 17 episodes of the series police report , 18 episodes of Mickey Rooney Show and six episodes of Solo for Oncel 1967 he was in an episode of I Dream of Jeannie seen as an actor in a small supporting role.
