Jack T. Collis

Jack T. Collis (born January 12, 1923 in Los Angeles , California , † February 1, 1998 there ) was an American production designer and art director .

Life

Collis began his career in the film staff in 1955. By the late 1950s, he had worked on a dozen feature films and numerous television productions. In the 1960s, he was mainly active for television, including the television series Adventure Underwater and Batman . With the beginning of the 1970s he received engagements in major Hollywood productions such as Dirty Harry II - Calahan , The Last Tycoon and Exorcist II - The Heretic . For Elia Kazan's literary adaptation The Last Tycoon , he was nominated for the Oscar in the category of best production design in 1977 together with Gene Callahan and Jerry Wunderlich , but the award this year went to The Untouchables .

By the early 1990s, Collis worked on numerous other successful films, including Star Trek IV: Back to the Present , Running Man and In a Distant Land .
