Jerry Wunderlich

Jerry Wunderlich (born August 18, 1925 in San Francisco , † May 14, 1999 in North Hollywood ) was an American production designer . He was nominated twice for an Oscar .

Life

Jerry Wunderlich began his career in 1957 as a production designer for the television series The Thin Man . His first film work was Tropenglut (1959) with Audrey Hepburn and Anthony Perkins in the leading roles. Wunderlich worked for both cinema and television. At the 1973 Academy Awards , he was nominated for an Oscar for best production design along with art director Bill Malley . However, the two lost to Henry Bumstead and James W. Payne , who were responsible for The Clou .

In 1976 he was nominated a second time, this time for The Last Tycoon , along with Gene Callahan and Jack T. Collis . Again, the Oscar went to another team: George Jenkins and George Gaines for their work on The Untouchables .

His last work was from 1990 to 1991 on the television series Daddy creates us all and on the film The Trail leads back - The Two Jakes .
