Jack Walsh

Jack Walsh (* 14. November 1933 as Raymond J. Walsh ; † 25. July 2014 in South Pasadena , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Walsh began his career in the late 1960s as a performer in John Waters ' early works Mondo Trasho and Multiple Maniacs . He was later also seen in Pink Flamingos . In George Lucas ' early work THX 1138 he played TRG , in David Lynch's Eraserhead he portrayed Mr. Roundheels . Apart from a single guest role in a series in 1984, Walsh no longer appeared as a film and television actor between 1977 and 1992. He returned in front of the camera at the side of Dolly Parton and James Woods with a small role in the comedy Sag's Open, Shirlee . In addition to other minor roles such as Equinox , Minnesota and Love by Express , he played a major supporting role in David Lynch's A True Story - The Straight Story . His best-known role is likely to have been that of Tom Butler in Sam Raimi's two Academy Award-nominated literary adaptation A Simple Plan .

In the 2000s he was increasingly seen in television roles, including guest roles in Alone Against the Future , Scrubs - The Beginners and Dr. House . He also appeared in two episodes of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother as Morris and in three episodes of Suburgatory as Marty Krupp .

Walsh died at the age of 80 of complications from a lung disease .
