Jacques Siclier

Jacques Siclier (born March 27, 1927 in Troyes , France , † November 8, 2013 in Paris ) was a French film critic , screenwriter, historian and author.

Life

Siclier began his literary work on cinema, its history and its people in 1956. At the end of the 1950s, he worked for two years for Cahiers du cinéma and started in 1960 as a film and television critic for Le Monde , having already in the film Breathless by Jean-Luc Godard had played a minor role. He was a prominent member of the critics' panel of the television program La Masque et la Plume .

Siclier wrote the scripts for the television series Janique Aimée and Les Habits noirs . In 1992 he was a member of the jury of the Venice International Film Festival .
