Hunting for a nameless is a Canadian-British-Mexican thriller of Harley Cokeliss from the year 2000 .

Jack is found in the New Mexico desert , he can't remember anything. He later recalls that he was persecuted. As he walks through the desert, he meets the painter Vicky before he passes out.

Vicky helps Jack, who is soon given back a wallet left at a gas station. According to the documents found in it, his name is "Jack Coney" and he works as a private investigator. At the address found there in a hotel is a corpse.

Jack discovers that the documents have been forged. He is hunted by the mafiosi, but can prevail and kill the mafia chief who was hit in the desert. He and Vicky drive away in the car.

Reviews

  • Ryan Cracknell praised the direction and use of the color filters in the Apollo Movie Guide. Ray Liotta's portrayal is acceptable, although it is not his best portrayal. The film offers no surprises, it addresses the search for one's own identity.
  • In his review for the BBC, Almar Haflidason praised the fact that the thriller is “compact” and that it offers surprises even to film connoisseurs. The portrayal of Ray Liotta is subtle.
  • Prisma criticized the "well-trodden paths", but wrote that the thriller was exciting.
