history

Women's football has been played at TSV since 1971. In the late 1990s, the club established itself in the top group of the Oberliga Hessen and in 2000 became a founding member of the Regionalliga Süd . After one season, the club pulled its team back to the league for financial reasons, despite sporting relegation. As the Hessian Cup winners, the team took part in the DFB Cup , where it was the end of the line in the first round with a 5-1 home defeat against FFC Heike Rheine . After two years, the club managed to return to the regional league and qualified in 2004 for the newly founded 2nd Bundesliga . TSV Jahn was the only Hessian team to be divided into the northern group and surprisingly came third in the first season. In 2005 the club played in the DFB Cup for the second time. In the second round, the TSV came to a respectable 1: 2 defeat against the first division club Hamburger SV . In 2007 the team, weakened by many injuries, had to relegate from the 2nd Bundesliga. For a long time it was not certain whether the club would start in the re-established Regionalliga Süd. After the budget was secured, however, the team was reported.
