According to the tombstone, he held the ranks of an imperial sergeant-general (since 1682) and a lieutenant general of the Republic of Venice .
The officer last lived in Großheubach , Franconia , near Engelberg Monastery , where he died in 1695. It was here that he had donated the first documented altar of grace to the pilgrimage site in 1692 . He was buried in the monastery church and his grave slab is preserved in the left aisle.
