Jakob Bruderer (politician, 1890)

Jakob Bruderer (* July 2, 1890 in Speicher ; † February 6, 1966 in Teufen ; resident in Speicher) was a Swiss construction engineer , cantonal councilor , government councilor and national councilor from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Jakob Bruderer was the son of Johann Jacob Bruderer, a farmer and later a building contractor . In 1914 he married Nelly Rohner, daughter of Otto Rohner, landlord and wine merchant . He attended the building school in Stuttgart and completed further training in St. Gallen and Italy . He graduated as a construction technician. In 1922 he founded a construction business in Teufen. From 1920 to 1939 he was a free-spirited councilor in Teufen. In Ausserrhoden he was a cantonal councilor from 1929 to 1943. From 1943 to 1956 he headed the finance and insurance department as a member of the government. From 1948 to 1951 and from 1954 to 1956 he held the office of Landammann . From 1951 to 1954 he sat on the National Council. He was president of the cantonal master builder association and member of the central board of the Swiss master builder association . From 1944 to 1966 he sat on the board of directors of the Säntis suspension railway . He presided over it from 1953 to 1960. From 1951 to 1960 he was on the board of directors of the Sankt-Gallen-Appenzell power plants . From 1946 to 1959 he was a member of the cantonal bank administration .
