Jakob Guttmann (rabbi)

Jakob Guttmann (born April 22, 1845 in Beuthen , Upper Silesia ; died September 29, 1919 in Breslau ) was a German rabbi and religious philosopher .

Life

After studying at the rabbi seminar in Breslau and at the University of Breslau , Guttmann was a land rabbi in Hildesheim from 1874 to 1892 . From 1892 to 1919 he was a rabbi in Breslau.

Jakob Guttmann was married to Beate née Simonson (* 1858) from Copenhagen , who was very active in the Jewish community in Wroclaw . Julius Guttmann came from this marriage .
