Jakob Isbert (born March 6, 1808 in Montabaur ; † June 8, 1881 in Wiesbaden ) was a ducal Nassau bailiff and magistrate , later a royal Prussian court judge and appellate judge .
Life
Isbert was the son of the businessman, Baumbach city councilor and mayor Martin Matthias Isbert (1765-1813) and his wife Anna Margaretha Isbert, née Wingens (1772-1841). He had seven brothers and five sisters. His sister Helene (1806–1835) married Peter Modest Waterloo (1797–1875), Mayor of Montabaur, in 1832.
Isbert studied law at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and then worked as an assessor in Limburg , where he met his first wife Franziska Antinie Wilhelmine Auguste Isbert, née von Dudon (1812–1839) . Her father Jean-Baptiste Dudon ď 'Envals (1765–1836) was from Les Esseintes . Their marriage in 1838 resulted in a daughter. From 1848 to 1849 he was bailiff of the Montabaur district , from 1856 to 1861 of the Wallmerod district , then from 1861 to 1863 of the Idstein district and from 1863 to 1868 of the Limburg district . In 1870 he was retired.
After the early death of his first wife, he tried for many years to reach a consensus with the Duke of Nassau to remarry. Well-known sons from his second marriage were Adolf , August and Karl Isbert . His granddaughter Margot Benary-Isbert , daughter of Adolf Isbert, described the life of Jakob Isbert and his family in her book In the House of My Grandfather in 1865.
