Adolf Isbert

Adolf Karl Franz Isbert (born August 25, 1858 in Wiesbaden ; † December 5, 1938 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German automobile expert and a brother of u. a. Karl Isbert and August Isbert . His daughter was Margot Benary-Isbert .

After attending the secondary school in Wiesbaden, Isbert studied in Jena , where he received his doctorate in 1886 with a paper on acetoacetic ether . He then became a court-sworn expert for the automotive and transport systems at the Higher Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main and for the regional court districts of Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, Kassel and Hanau.

In 1899 he was one of the founding members of the Frankfurt Automobile Club, of which he was president from 1920 to 1934, was a member of the German Automobile Club, later the Automobile Club of Germany , as well as an honorary member a. a. of the Hessian Automobile Club and the Bavarian Automobile Club.

Isbert was elected to one of the first members of the newly founded Supreme National Sports Commission for Motor Sports in Germany (ONS) in 1926 and remained in office for at least two years. He was holder of the Red Eagle Order IV class.
