James Aloysius McNulty

James Aloysius McNulty (born January 16, 1900 in New York City , USA , † September 4, 1972 in Buffalo ) was a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Buffalo .

Life

James Aloysius McNulty received on 12 July 1925 by the Bishop of Newark , John Joseph O'Connor , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On August 2, 1947, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the titular bishop of Methone and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Newark. The Archbishop of Newark, Thomas Joseph Walsh , ordained him episcopal on October 7 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Trenton , William Aloysius Griffin , and the Bishop of Hartford , Henry Joseph O'Brien . On April 9, 1953, Pope Pius XII appointed him. to the Bishop of Paterson . Pope John XXIII appointed him on February 12, 1963 Bishop of Buffalo.

James Aloysius McNulty attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
