Thomas Joseph Walsh (born December 6, 1873 in Parkers Landing , Pennsylvania , USA , † June 6, 1952 in Newark , New Jersey ) was Archbishop of Newark .

Life

Thomas Joseph Walsh received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Buffalo on January 27, 1900 .

On May 10, 1918, Pope Benedict XV appointed him . to the Bishop of Trenton . The Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Giovanni Bonzano , ordained him episcopal on July 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Philadelphia , Denis Joseph Dougherty , and the Bishop of Newark, John Joseph O'Connor . On March 2, 1928, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Newark. The inauguration took place on May 1st of the same year.

On December 10, 1937, Thomas Joseph Walsh became Archbishop of Newark. The inauguration took place on April 27, 1938.
