James Chen (born December 25, 1983 in Taipei ) is a professional Taiwanese poker player .

Personal

Before he started playing poker, Chen worked as an app developer . He lives in Taichung .

Poker career

Chen has been participating in prestigious live tournaments since 2014 .

Chen was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in early July 2014 and made it into the money in Little One for One Drop , which was played in the No Limit Hold'em variant . In mid-September 2015 he won the high roller of the Macau Poker Cup in Macau with a prize money equivalent to just under 220,000 US dollars . He repeated this tournament victory a year later, for which he now received the equivalent of almost 300,000 dollars. In January 2017, Chen won the A $ 25,000 Challenge of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne for a prize of over 860,000 Australian dollars . In mid-October 2017, he finished ninth at the main event of the Triton Super High Roller Series in Macau, worth around 300,000 US dollars.
