Jamie Prebble (born May 28, 1991 in Christchurch ) is a New Zealand freestyle skier and former alpine ski racer . He starts in the ski cross discipline .

Career

Prebble began his sports career as an alpine ski racer . He competed in FIS races and the Australian New Zealand Cup from 2006 to 2013 . At the 2013 Alpine World Ski Championships in Schladming , he finished 63rd in the Super G. He completed his first World Cup race in the freestyle skiing discipline Skicross in December 2012 in Nakiska , which he finished in 38th place. At the Freestyle Skiing World Championships 2013 in Voss , he also came in 38th place. In the summer of 2014 he came second and first at the Australian New Zealand Cup at Mount Hotham and won the overall standings. In February 2015 in Åre he reached sixth place, his first top ten placement and so far best placement in the World Cup. At the Freestyle Skiing World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada , he surprisingly won the silver medal in ski cross.

Prebble has taken part in 51 World Cup races so far and has placed in the top ten twice. (Status: end of season 2016/17)
