Jan Arvan

Jan Arvan (born April 10, 1913 in Wisconsin , USA , † May 24, 1979 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .

Arvan appeared mainly in television series. From the 1950s to the 1970s, Arvan worked almost exclusively in television series, apart from a few film roles. He had his first film appearance in 1950 in the film The Desert Falcon . This was followed by the film Inside the Walls of Folsom Prison , before his career began with the television series Dangerous Assignment . Major series in the 1950s included The Red Skelton Show , Superman , Smoking Colts , Zorro Clean Up and A Thousand Miles of Dust .

In the 1960s, many appearances in television series followed. So in the series Mein Unkel vom Mars , Solo for ONCEL and Batman . Also in the 1970s he appeared in series such as A Sheriff in New York , Emergency Call California and Starsky & Hutch .

Arvan also remained present in the cinema. One of his most famous roles was that of Contino in The Beast from Space . Other important films were Arvans The Robe , Zorro cleans up , The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse , ... covet anything , A man walks over dead bodies and The Poseidon Adventure .

Arvan died of a heart attack in California in 1979 at the age of 66.
