Jan Balcke (born May 13, 1973 in Hamburg ) is a German SPD politician . From 2008 to 2015 he was a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

Jan Balcke grew up in the Hamburg district of Marienthal and graduated from the Rudolf Steiner School in Wandsbek in 1993 . This was followed up in 2002 to study in Luneburg , graduating with a degree in economics . He works as an employee at Airbus in Hamburg as head of training. He is also a member of the supervisory board of HANSA Baugenossenschaft e. G. as well as member of the supervisory board of the vocational training center (bbw).

Jan Balcke joined the SPD in 1992 and from 1997 was a member of the Hamburg-Wandsbek district assembly for his party . There he was for his faction economic spokesman and chairman of the Committee on Finance and culture. Within his party, he took over the chairmanship of the SPD district of Wandsbek City from Rolf-Dieter Klooss in March 2006 . His political priorities were the areas of economy and urban development as well as sport.

In February 2008, he was in the state election on the constituency Wandsbek move as a deputy in the Hamburg Parliament. For his parliamentary group , he was a chairman of the sports committee and the urban development committee from 2008 to 2011. In the 2011 general election , he successfully defended his constituency mandate. Since 2011 he has been the economic policy spokesman for his group.

In 2014 Balcke gave up the chairmanship of the district for professional reasons, his successor was Uwe Lohmann . Balcke did not run for the 2015 general election .
