Jan Kittmann

Jan Kittmann (* 1983 in East Berlin ) is a German actor .

Life

January Kittmann was born in East Berlin, his father was East Germany - Diplomat . He started school in Budapest , where he became a young pioneer , but spent most of his school days in Berlin. He attended high school, discovered his interest in acting in high school and took on roles in various school theater competitions. He passed his Abitur in Berlin.

He first began studying computer science , worked for several years in various off-theater productions in Berlin and danced from 1999 to 2007 in the jazz-modern-dance formation Outfaced , with which he emerged as the winner of the Berlin championship for five consecutive years.

After his decision to become an actor, he completed his acting training at the Theater Academy Vorpommern on Usedom from 2005 , which he successfully completed in 2009. During his training he took part in numerous productions at the Vorpommerschen Landesbühne and has already made guest appearances at the Staatstheater Schwerin and the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau .

After completing his training, he took up his first permanent position at the Altmark Theater in Stendal at the beginning of the 2009/10 season , where he stayed for four years until the end of the 2012/13 season. There he played numerous roles in the classical and modern theater repertoire and was also active in children's and youth theater. His roles included Jean-Michel in the musical La Cage aux Folles , Bill Calhoun / Lucentio in the musical Kiss Me, Kate , the student Perchik in the musical Anatevka , Alceste in The Misanthrope , Ferdinand in Cabal and Love , Paul Bratter in Barefoot in the Park and Tom in the children's play Tom Sawyer .

In 2012 he was awarded the theater prize of the Stendaler Theaterförderverein as "Best Actor 2012". Since 2013 he has been a regular guest at the Comödie Dresden . In 2014 he appeared at the Carl Orff Festival Andechs as Valerio's servant in Leonce and Lena . He had further engagements at the State Theater in Hanover and at the Societätstheater Dresden .

From 2016 Kittmann appeared in numerous comedies and appeared at various tabloid theaters in Germany, including a. at the Theater an der Kö , at the Comedy in the Bayerischer Hof in Munich , at the Comedy in Düsseldorf and in the Theater im Rathaus Essen.

At the beginning of 2019, Kittmann played the role of chief inspector Thomas Waldeck in the RTL series The Plumber . In the ZDF television series Das Traumschiff Kittmann was seen in the Christmas episode 2019, which was filmed in Antigua , alongside Leander Lichti in the first engagement of a homosexual couple on the "Traumschiff". In the 6th season of the ZDF series Bettys Diagnose (2020), Kittmann took on one of the episode roles as the worried son of a seriously ill Italian delicatessen woman .

Jan Kittmann lives in Berlin.
