Jan Vlasák

Jan Vlasák (born February 3, 1943 in Čáslav ) is a Czech actor.

Life

Vlasák studied performing arts at the JAMU in Brno until 1965 and then worked at the Slovácké divadlo in Uherské Hradiště until 1968 . He then played from 1968 to 1981 in Ostrava at the Divadlo Petra Bezruče and at the Státní divadlo Ostrava , where he made a name for himself as Hamlet . This was followed by a brief engagement at the Prague Divadlo EF Buriana (1981/82) and a longer one at the Státní divadlo in Brno (1982-86), where he played, among other things, Othello .

From 1986 to 1990 Vlasák played at the Realistické divadlo Zdeňka Nejedlého in Prague and finally from 1990 to 2000 at the Prague Národní divadlo and the Stavovské divadlo . Vlasák can also be seen regularly at the Summer Shakespeare Festival ( Letní Shakespeare Festival ) at Prague Castle .

In addition to his theater work, Vlasák also occasionally appears in film and television roles. He became internationally known for his film appearances as a torturing businessman in Eli Roth's Hostel (2005) and as a lisping civil registrar Wasserbauer in Jan Svěrák's Leergut (2007).

Vlasak has three children, Anna, Barbara and Jan .
