Jane Salumäe

Jane Salumäe (born January 17, 1968 in Tallinn ) is a former Estonian long-distance runner who specialized in the marathon distance .

She was particularly successful in city marathons. In 1997 she won the Rome marathon in 2:31:41 h and then the Turin marathon in a personal best and the record track time of 2:27:04 h. In 2000 she won the Los Angeles Marathon in 2:33:33 h and in 2001 the Vienna City Marathon in 2:29:47 h.

At international championships she was mostly denied top placements. Her best results were fourth place at the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002 and fourteenth place at the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg . In her other World Cup participations in Seville in 1999 and in Paris in 2003 , she finished 30th and 47th. The marathon at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens she finished in 44th place.

Jane Salumäe was 1.67 m tall and had a competition weight of 53 kg. In 1998 she was voted Sportswoman of the Year in Estonia.
