Janovice (German Johannesgunst ) is a settlement of the municipality Rudník in the Czech Republic . It is located six kilometers north of Hostinné and belongs to the Okres Trutnov .
geography
Janovice is located at the southern foothills of the Giant Mountains . The village lies on the right side above the valley of the Janovický creek on a 492 m high hill. To the north rise the Zlatá vyhlídka ( Golden View , 806 m) and the Hladíkova výšina ( Ladighöhe , 768 m), in the south the Červená výšina ( Red Height , 519 m), to the southwest the Pastvina (502 m) and in the northwest the Spálov ( 506 m). The forest area Dlouhý les ( Long Forest ) extends to the northeast .
Neighboring towns are Bolkov , Zlatá Vyhlídka and Hladíkova Výšina in the north, Javorník in the east, Leopoldov in the southeast, Čermná in the south and Rudník in the west.
history
The Arnau textile manufacturer Johann Franz tar ennobled when Johann Freiherr von Silberstein, of 1790, the reign of the court chamber poacher with the connected Good Hermannseifen had acquired was, in 1794 a stately sheep on the hillside instead east of Hermannseifen a settlement Creating that the after him Name Johannisgunst received. In 1808 his son Franz Freiherr von Silberstein acquired the property. With the inheritance contract of 1815, the Hermannseifen estate was separated from the Wildschütz rule and passed to Josef Karl Freiherr von Silberstein. In 1834 Johannesgunst had 113 inhabitants and consisted of 20 houses. The Catholic and Protestant parish was Hermannseifen. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village, popularly referred to as the favor , always remained subject to the allodial estate Hermannseifen.
After the abolition of patrimonial Johannesgut formed from 1850 a district of the Hermannseifen community in the Hohenelbe / Vrchlabí district administration . In 1879 Adolf von Silberstein sold the Hermannseifen estate to Friedrich Wihard from Liebau in Silesia . He sold it to the textile manufacturer Johann Adam Kluge in 1880. After the establishment of Czechoslovakia, the community was assigned to the new judicial district of Arnau in 1922. The Czech place name Janovice has been in use since 1921 . During the nocturnal storm from June 20 to 21, 1934, the “Gunster Kreuz” was destroyed by a lightning strike. As a result of the Munich Agreement , Johannesgunst and Hermannseifen were annexed to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Hohenelbe district until 1945 . After the Second World War, the place came back to Czechoslovakia. As a result of the expulsion of German residents, the number of residents fell sharply. After the cancellation of the Okres Vrchlabí Janovice was assigned to the Okres Trutnov at the beginning of 1961. In 1980 the place lost its status as a district.
