Japanese Academy Award / Most Popular Actor
Since the first award in 1980, the Japanese Academy Awards honored the most popular actors in Japan in the opinion of the Academy in the category Most Popular Actor ( Japanese話題 賞 ・ 俳 優 部門wadaiū shō - haiyū bumon ). One does not limit oneself to Japanese productions or people, but honored the two dogs Taro and Jiro from Taro and Jiro in the Antarctic as well as the eponymous alien from ET - The Extra Terrestrial .
