religion
Reliable data are lacking, but it can be assumed that the Baroque-style, single-nave Serbian Orthodox Church in Jarkovac was built in the second half of the 18th century. The artistic design of the chancel was made in the years 1858–1861 by the Serbian painter Konstantin Danil. Wall paintings by Stevan Aleksić were added in 1911, and the roof structure was renewed in the same year. Further redevelopment measures were taken from 1974 to 1975 and 1978.
history
Until the Treaty of Trianon (1920) the village belonged to Torontál County in the Kingdom of Hungary , then to the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes , since 1928 to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, since 2006 to Serbia . During the Balkan campaign , the place was occupied by the Wehrmacht in 1941 until they withdrew in 1944.
