history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1590 . Jassow was created as a street village, but three districts emerged. The place belonged in the 18th century to the Pomeranian noble family von Flemming , and administratively it was subordinate to the localities Piaski and Brzozowo . Over time, Jassow developed into a small clustered village . In Jassow there was a large agricultural estate, and in 1870 the associated village had about 260 inhabitants. In 1880 a windmill was built based on the Dutch model.
Towards the end of World War II , Yasov was occupied by the Red Army in early March 1945 . The windmill was destroyed during the fighting.
After the end of the war, Jassow was placed under Polish administration and renamed Jarszewko . The village has about 80 inhabitants.
Most of today's buildings date from the turn of the century . Today tourism is of great importance to the village and more and more holiday homes are being built. To the west of Jassow, on the Szczecin Lagoon, there is a bathing beach, and the area is open to tourists with cycling and hiking trails.
