Jason Gould (* 29. December 1966 in New York City as Jason Emanuel Goldstein ) is an American actor , singer , director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life and accomplishments

Jason Gould is the son of actors Barbra Streisand and Elliott Gould . He played his first major role alongside John Cusack and Ione Skye in the film drama Teen Lover (1989). In the comedy The Big Picture (1989) he starred alongside Kevin Bacon , Jennifer Jason Leigh and Teri Hatcher . In the film Lord of the Tides , he played the role of Bernard Woodruff , the son of Susan Lowenstein , who played Barbra Streisand.

He wrote the script, directed and starred alongside Alexis Arquette , his father Elliott Gould, Jordan Ladd and his half-brother Sam Gould himself for the partly autobiographically inspired and self-produced short film Inside Out (1997) . In it he plays Aaron, the son of famous parents, who is followed by paparazzi and outed by tabloids. Thereupon he finds consolation in a self-help group for children of well-known people, turns further to Scientology, before he deals with doing a radical striptease for the press. The film was released again in 2000 as part of the episode film Boys Life 3 .

Gould has always been openly gay and was outed around 1991 by a tabloid with a fabricated story about an alleged marriage to a male model that he had already denied over the phone . The fact that the newspaper could not be prosecuted and how it manipulated him shocked him deeply, so that he largely withdrew from the public.

In 2012 and 2013 he toured America and Europe with his mother Barbra Streisand to present his CD Jason Gould . He sang a duet with his mother.
