Jason Hawes

Jason Conrad Hawes (born December 27, 1971 in Canandaigua , New York ) is the founder of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) , an organization that deals with paranormal cases, based in Warwick , Rhode Island . Hawes is also a co-producer of the Syfy series Ghost Hunters , which started with the tenth season. The eleventh season will first broadcast in the USA from August 2016.

Interests, family and friends

Hawes has diverse interests outside of TAPS. Among other things, the fine arts , deep-sea fishing , martial arts (he fought in numerous competitions), camping, trekking, writing books, scripts and cooking. Hawes and the co-founder of TAPS ( Grant Wilson ) are long term contributors to their work as plumbers for Roto Rooter . Hawes was the best plumber at Roto Rooter in New England before the show started . The two were also owners of the Spalding Inn, which is in Whitefield , New Hampshire .

Hawes spends a lot of time attending charity events to help children with cancer. He also wrote four science fiction / thriller scripts. Hawes and his wife Kris have five children - three girls, twins and a grandchild of their eldest daughter Samantha.

Threatening emails

In March 2005, Barry Clinton Eckstrom of Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania wrote threatening emails to Jason Hawes. Hawes then alerted the FBI in Providence , Rhode Island. When the e-mails threatened President George W. Bush , the Secret Service was turned on. Eckstrom also used Hawes' name to send emails to female members of TAPS threatening them, rape and then killing them. Under the supervision of federal officials, Eckstrom used a library computer in Bethel Park , Pennsylvania to send an email in Hawes' name to Roto-Rooter headquarters in Cincinnati . In this email he threatened to shoot employees there. Eckstrom also posted a message on the Department of Homeland Security website, also on Hawes’s behalf, announcing that he would kill President Bush. Before he could send the message, he was arrested. In January 2006, Eckstrom was sentenced to two years in prison for these activities.
