The Jauer , in Upper Sorbian Jawora ("Ahornbach"), is a right tributary of the Black Elster in the Sorbian settlement area .
It rises from two sources on the Leipsberg northwest of Kaschwitz . The western branch of the spring brushes against Kriepitz and feeds the ponds there, while the other branch of the spring passes the place 500 meters to the east.
course
The stream initially flows north, but then takes an easterly direction and crosses under the S 100 state road before turning north again and crossing Miltitz , which it leaves in a westerly direction. Before it reaches Nebelschütz , it flows through the former Nebelschütz reservoir and returns to its original, northern direction. Finally, the Jauer reaches the north-east of Kamenz to Deutschbaselitz , where it feeds the large Deutschbaselitz pond along with other ponds, and after about 14 kilometers flows into the Black Elster as its drain.
The Jauer often meanders and has been straightened and expanded in sections.
