Jay Rabinowitz (film editor)

Jay Rabinowitz is an American film editor .

Life

Rabinowitz studied at New York University , where he completed the Cinema Studies Program in 1984. During the program he found out about a film project for which an intern was still being sought. The project was Jim Jarmusch's Night on Earth . Rabinowitz has since worked on all of Jarmusch's films, including Dead Man , Coffee and Cigarettes , Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, and Broken Flowers . Other well-known directors he worked on were Paul Schrader , Darren Aronofsky and Terrence Malick .

In 2000 he was recognized for his performance in the film Requiem for a Dream at the Online Film Critics Society Awards for Best Editing .

He is a member of the American Cinema Editors (ACE) association.
