Jean-Claude Vannier (* 1943 in Bécon les Bruyères, Courbevoie ) is a French musician, composer , arranger and music producer who has been playing French pop and film music since the 1970s a. a. influenced with elements of oriental music . The concept album Histoire de Melody Nelson (1971) by Serge Gainsbourg is one of his best-known arrangements . Vannier also emerged as a watercolor painter and author. In 1990 he published the short story collection Le club des inconsolables .
