Jean-Frédéric Neuburger

Jean-Frédéric Neuburger (born December 29, 1986 in Paris ) is a French pianist and composer.

Life

Neuburger received training in organ, piano and composition before becoming a student at the Paris Conservatory at the age of thirteen , from which he emerged in 2005 with five first prizes. Afterwards he received lessons in composition from Michael Jarrell and from Luis Naón and Eric Daubresse in electroacoustic composition. Since then he has worked as a composer and pianist with a very diverse repertoire.

Neuburger has received commissions from the Boston Symphony Orchestra , the Festival d'Évian, Radio France , the Concours international Long-Thibaud and the Folles Journées de Nantes, among others . His works have been performed by the Orchester de Paris and the Boston Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Christoph von Dohnanyi and the Choir and Philharmonic of Radio France under the direction of Pascal Rophé.

As a soloist, Neuburger appears with orchestras of international repute such as the New York Philharmonic , San Francisco Symphony and others. He works with conductors such as François-Xavier Roth , David Zinman and others. He rehearsed his Piano Sonata N ° 2 with Pierre Boulez . He also plays at international festivals and appears as a chamber musician with the Modigliani, Bertrand Chamayou and Renaud Capuçon quartet, among others .

Awards

In 2010, Neuburger received the “Lili et Nadia Boulanger Prize” from the Académie des Beaux-Arts . In 2015 he received the “Hervé Dugardin Prize” from the French Society for the Management of Music Rights (SACEM).
