Jean-Baptiste-François-Anne-Thomas Landriot (born January 19, 1816 in Couches , † June 8, 1874 in Reims ) was a French Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Reims .

Life

After the early loss of his parents, Jean-François Landriot grew up as an orphan . He was close friends with the future Cardinal Jean-Baptiste Pitra . He was ordained a priest on May 25, 1839 for the diocese of Autun . He is described as a liberal -minded clergyman, which should later bring him in clear contrast to his predecessors in the episcopate . Jean-François Landriot was very educated and eloquent, he left behind a number of literary works.

Jean-François Landriot was elected Bishop of La Rochelle on May 3, 1856 , this was confirmed by the Curia on June 16 of the same year. He received his episcopal ordination on July 20, 1856, the Archbishop of Lyons , Cardinal Louis-Jacques-Maurice de Bonald ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Turin , Luigi Fransoni , and Frédéric-Gabriel-Marie-François de Marguerye , Bishop of Autun . On January 16, 1867, he was transferred to the archbishopric of Reims. Jean-François Landriot attended the First Vatican Council . He died of a debilitating disease.
