Jean-Jacques "JJ" Aeschlimann (born May 30, 1967 in Biel ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player .
Career
Jean-Jacques Aeschlimann began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown at EHC Biel , for which he was active in the National League A from 1985 to 1991 . He then moved to their league rivals HC Lugano , with whom he became Swiss champions in 1999 and 2003 . The 2005/06 season he began at Friborg-Gottéron , for which he was only in two games on the ice before he joined the second division Lausanne HC , where he ended his career following the 2006/07 season.
Aeschlimann was known as a penalty specialist. He is a regular studio guest at SRF Zwei during the NLA playoffs.
International
For Switzerland , Aeschlimann took part in the U20 Junior World Championship in 1987 and the B World Championship in 1994 . He was also in the Swiss squad at the A-World Championships in 1995 , 2000 , 2001 , 2002 and 2003 , and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City .
