Jean-Louis Jobidon

Jean-Louis Jobidon MAfr (born November 18, 1916 in Château-Richer , Québec , Canada , † April 14, 1997 ) was a Canadian religious and bishop of Mzuzu .

Life

Jean-Louis Jobidon joined the religious order of the White Fathers in and received on 19 June 1943, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On January 3, 1958, Pope Pius XII appointed him . for the first Apostolic Prefect of North Nyassa. Alessandro Assolari became on January 17, 1961 as a result of the elevation of the Apostolic Prefecture of North Nyassa to the diocese , which was renamed the Diocese of Mzuzu , its first bishop. The Archbishop of Québec , Maurice Roy , donated him episcopal ordination on May 22 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Karema , Charles Msakila , and the auxiliary bishop in Québec, Charles-Omer Garant .

On October 1, 1987, Jean-Louis Jobidon resigned as Bishop of Mzuzu.

Jean-Louis Jobidon attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
