Jean-Marie Untaani Compaoré (born July 29, 1933 in Saganyônyôgo ) is Old Archbishop of Ouagadougou .

Life

Jean-Marie Untaani Compaoré was ordained a priest on September 8, 1962 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Archdiocese of Ouagadougou . Paul VI appointed him on May 17, 1973 auxiliary bishop in Ouagadougou and titular bishop of Lamzella .

The Archbishop of Ouagadougou, Cardinal Paul Zoungrana MAfr , donated him episcopal ordination on October 28th of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Jean-Baptiste Kpiéle Somé , Bishop of Diébougou , and Dieudonné Yougbaré , Bishop of Koupéla .

On June 15, 1979, he was appointed Bishop of Fada N'Gourma . John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Ouagadougou on June 10, 1995. On May 13, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
