Jean Kockerols (born August 13, 1958 in Brecht ) is auxiliary bishop in Mechelen-Brussels .

Life

Jean Kockerols initially studied law with a focus on maritime law and worked as a lawyer at Compagnie Maritime Belge , a Belgian shipping company. He was involved in L'Arche of Jean Vanier and entered the seminary and studied philosophy and Catholic theology and received on 18 September 1993 in Brussels, the ordination . He completed studies in canon law and philosophy. He received his doctorate in theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome . In 1995 he became vicar in Etterbeek in Notre-Dame du Sacré-coeur. In 2006 it became sub-rainof the archiepiscopal seminary in Brussels, where he accompanied the young aspirants to the priesthood.
