Jean Lefebvre (actor)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jean Lefebvre (born October 3, 1919 in Valenciennes , France , † July 9, 2004 in Marrakech , Morocco ) was a French actor .

Live and act

Lefebvre was born the son of the blacksmith Georges Marcel Lefebvre and his wife Zélia Louise Mathilde Masquelier, although there is disagreement about his birthplace and date of birth. Lefebvre has interpreted numerous roles since 1934, both in films and in theater . In his nearly 150 films he was mostly used as a supporting actor. He became known on the side of Louis de Funès and Michel Galabru in The Gendarme of Saint Tropez , one of the successful cinema series of the 1960s and 1970s, where he gave the naive idiot off the job, as well as the film clothes for the Septième compagnie . In 1954 he was seen alongside Simone Signoret in Henri-Georges Clouzot's Die Teuflischen . In 1958 he shot the girl from Hamburg with Daniel Gélin and Hildegard Knef . From 1990 he mostly only appeared on television. His theater career began in Paris. Some of the pieces Lefebvre performed on were L'Amour, toujours l'amour , Jupon vole and La Plume de ma tante .

Contrary to the often mistaken assumption, he was not a member of the jury at the Berlin Film Festival in 2000, but a colleague from Canada .

Lefebvre was married a total of five times, twice to the same woman. His marriages resulted in a total of five children: Bernard, Catherine, Marie-Christine, Carole and Pascal. His wives were Micheline Reine Grasser (1950–1962), Catherine Chassin (1967–1973), Yori Bertin (1974–1977) and Brigitte Jacqueline Françoise Lerebours (1994–2004), with whom he was married until his death.

Jean Lefebvre bought a restaurant in Marrakech in 1999 by winning several million francs in the lottery, where he died of heart failure in his house at the age of 84 .
