Jean Parker (born August 11, 1915 in Deer Lodge , Powell County , Montana , † November 30, 2005 in Woodland Hills , California ; actually Mae Green ) was an American actress .

Parker grew up in rural Montana. She was discovered for the film by Ida Koverman , Louis B. Mayer's personal assistant , after she won a painting competition. Parker appeared in several major films of the 1930s. Between 1932 and 1966 she played in about 70 films. Since the 1940s, she also played on Broadway . Jean Parker was married four times, including to radio man Douglas Dawson and actor Robert Lowery .

On February 8, 1960, she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6666 Hollywood Blvd.
