Jean de Capistran Aimé Cayer OFM (born April 17, 1900 in Capelton , Québec , Canada , † April 13, 1978 ) was Vicar Apostolic of Alexandria in Egypt .

Life

Jean de Capistran Aimé Cayer joined the Congregation of the Franciscan at and received on 11 July 1926, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On May 26, 1949, Pope Pius XII appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Cissi and ordered him Vicar Apostolic of Egypt. The Apostolic Delegate in Canada , Archbishop Ildebrando Antoniutti , donated him episcopal ordination on September 17 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Sherbrooke , Philippe Sérvule Desranleau , and the Bishop of Yantai , Louis Prosper Durand, OFM.

Jean de Capistran Aimé Cayer attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
