The Jena Forest nature reserve is located in the area of the city of Jena and in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It extends west of Jena and northeast of the center of the municipality of Bucha . The B 7 runs north of the area, the L 2308 state road runs east and the Saale flows , and the A 4 runs south .

The 541.1 ha area with the NSG no. 452 was placed under nature conservation in 2008.
history
Accommodation for the anti-aircraft cartillery was built in the Jena Forest in the 1930s ; Between 1960 and 1990, the Soviet armed forces of the 8th Guard Army also stationed Scud-B rockets and, most recently, SS-23 Spider rockets in the Jena Forest .
