The Hufeisen-Jenzig nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the city of Jena and in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It extends northeast of Jena and northwest of the core town of the community of Großlöbichau . The Saale flows west of the area and the B 88 runs, while the B 7 runs south .
