Jens-Erik Kirkegaard

Jens-Erik Kirkegaard (born April 6, 1975 in Ilulissat ) is a Greenlandic politician ( Siumut ).

Life

Jens-Erik Kirkegaard completed an education in information technology and business at Niuernermik Ilinniarfik from 1999 to 2001 . He then worked as an IT consultant at KIT . In 2007 he became chief advisor at Sermit . From 2008 to 2011 he also completed further training at the Aarhus Business School in the field of management. After completing this, he was project manager at TELE Greenland until 2013 . He is married and has two children.

In the same year he let himself stand in the parliamentary elections and was elected to Inatsisartut . A newcomer to politics, he was immediately appointed Minister for Acquisitions and Commodities in March 2013. In October 2013, a vote of no confidence against him failed. On October 1, 2014, he and several colleagues and Prime Minister Aleqa Hammond left the government before new elections took place.

In this election he only reached the third place of the Siumut. With this he was able to move into the Inatsisartut due to the leave of absence of the cabinet members. In the general election in 2015 , he also ran. He received the second most votes in the Siumut, becoming Aleqa Hammond's deputy. When Martha Lund Olsen left the cabinet, he lost his seat in the Inatsisartut in January 2017. In April, however, he replaced Karl-Kristian Kruse . In the 2018 parliamentary elections , he could no longer stand up so that he could have more time for family and work. In the 2019 Folketing Election he ran again and became the deputy of Aki-Matilda Høegh-Dam .
