Career
Jens Karlsson made his first attempts to stand on the ice in the youth of Frölunda HC , for whom he also played in the first professional years between 2000 and 2005. His first year as a pro caused the Los Angeles Kings to draw him in the first round in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft . During his time in Gothenburg, the almost 1.90 m tall striker was available twice for a few games in the second division. His last stop in Sweden for the time being was for the 2005/06 season at HV 71 Jönköping . After a season he decided to switch to the DEL in order to gain new experience with a view to a later NHL career. Therefore, he signed a one-year contract with the Iserlohn Roosters , which was not renewed. He spent the 2007/08 season in Sweden again, this time with Borås HC in HockeyAllsvenskan .
