Jens Pfahl (born September 16, 1960 in Magdeburg ) is a former German soccer player who was active at Stahl Riesa , the BSG and the BSV Stahl Brandenburg and Fortuna Cologne .

career

Jens Pfahl began his football career in 1967 with his brother Ingolf Pfahl at BSG Lokomotive Riesa under DHfK trainer Rudolf Schneider. From 1970 to 1974 he was active at BSG Stahl Riesa before he was delegated to SG Dynamo Dresden . At the international level, the striker completed 20 international matches for the junior national team of the GDR . Later appointments to the national team were no longer made.

In the season 1982/83 Pfahl was used for the first time in the upper division squad of the Dresden Dynamos, but could not prevail there permanently. He made his debut on the 6th match day in a 6-1 home win against BSG Chemie Böhlen . In the summer of 1983, the offensive returned to BSG Stahl Riesa , where Pfahl became a fixture for several years. By 1988 he had scored a total of 54 goals for Stahl Riesa in the GDR league , making Pfahl the most successful goalscorer in Riesa league history. In the 1986/87 season he finished second in the scorers list with 15 goals behind Frank Pastor and kept the relegation-threatened BSG almost single-handedly in the league. In the following season, Pfahl finished third with 13 goals, but Stahl Riesa's relegation could no longer be prevented. Another six months, in which he scored 9 goals in 16 games, he remained loyal to the steelworkers even in the second division.

In January 1989 Jens Pfahl moved to the top division Stahl Brandenburg . In Brandenburg, the striker could no longer achieve the Riesa goal quotas. In the last league season, Pfahl and the Havelstadt team prevailed against FC Berlin , Union Berlin and 1. FC Magdeburg in the qualifying round and were promoted to the 2. Bundesliga . In 1991, Pfahl moved to Fortuna Köln within the 2nd Bundesliga , and again briefly to Darmstadt 98 the following season . With SV Wilhelmshaven in 1994 he was promoted to the newly founded regional league. Afterwards, Pfahl no longer appeared in a higher class.
