Jeremayas "Jeremy" Alcoba (born November 15, 2001 in Tortosa ) is a Spanish motorcycle racer . He is 1.77 meters tall and weighs 63 kilograms.

Career

Alcoba's international career began in 2016 in the CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship . He rode a Honda in Emilio Alzamora's team Estrella Galicia 0.0 and came third in the first race and set the fastest lap. At the end of the season Alcoba was eleventh overall.

In 2017 Alcoba stayed with the team and won the season opener at the Circuito de Albacete . This was followed by more podium places during the season and he climbed to fifth place in the overall standings. In the 2018 season, Alcoba did not win a race and finished fourth overall. In 2019 Alcoba switched to Laglisse Academy and from now on rode a Husqvarna . In the fourth season Alcoba achieved his final breakthrough, he was champion with three wins of the season and 212 points.

Motorcycle world championship

In 2018 Alcoba made his debut in the Moto3 World Championship, as a wildcard starter at Estrella Galicia 0,0 in Catalonia , also on a Honda. However, he fell and did not reach the goal. Another wildcard start followed at the Aragon Grand Prix and he crossed the finish line for the first time in 23rd place. At the following Grand Prix of Thailand he jumped in as a replacement for the injured Estrella Galicia regular driver Arón Canet and finished 18th.

2019 Alcoba drove two races as a substitute for the injured Gabriel Rodrigo team Kömmerling Gresini of Fausto Gresini and went at the Grand Prix of Austria and the UK at the start. He achieved a 21st and a 14th place, with the latter result Alcoba also scored his first two championship points. Rodrigo dropped out again at the season finale in Valencia and Alcoba, who already had a contract in his pocket as the successor to Rodrigo's team-mate Riccardo Rossi , stepped in as a substitute, but crashed in qualifying and was unable to participate in the race due to his injuries.

In 2020 Alcoba's career began as a regular driver in the same team. In the very first race, the Qatar Grand Prix , he finished seventh, just one place behind Rodrigo. The Catalan finished 15th in the Spanish Grand Prix . In the next race, the Andalusian Grand Prix , he originally crossed the finish line fourth, but fell back to seventh due to a time penalty for exceeding the lane. After six races, Alcoba is in twelfth place in the World Championship.
