Jeroen Speak
Jeroen Speak (* 1969 ) is a New Zealand composer .
Life
Speak studied at Victoria University of Wellington until 1993 . In 1994 he was composer in residence at the Nelson School of Music. He earned a Ph.D. with Michael Finnissy at the University of Sussex in Great Britain. His teachers also included Harrison Birtwistle , John Young and Jonathan Harvey . With the help of a grant from the British Council , he worked in Taiwan in 2004 and in Shanghai in 2005. His works were u. a. performed at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, ISCM World Music Days and Gaudemus Festival. He worked with musicians such as Corrado Canonici , Arne De Force , Richard Haynes and Nicolas Hodges .
