Tang Lok-yin

Tang Lok-yin ( Chinese  鄧 樂 妍  /  邓 乐 妍 , Pinyin Dèng Lèyán , Jyutping Dang 6 Lok 6 jin 4 ; * in Hong Kong ) is a Chinese composer .

Life

Tang studied electronic music with Clarence Mak from 1999 to 2005 and composition with Law Wing-fai at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and from 2005 to 2006 with Chan Wing-wah at the Chinese University of Hong Kong . In 2001 she was a student of Brian Ferneyhough at IRCAM in Paris and in 2003 of Tristan Murail , Toshio Hosokawa and Wolfgang Rihm at the Darmstadt Summer Courses and in 2004 of George Tsontakis in Aspen. From 2007 to 2008 she was an exchange student at Columbia University in New York. She is currently doing her PhD in Hong Kong. Her compositions have already been performed in Australia, France and the USA.
