Dody Satya Ekagustdiman
Dody Satya Ekagustdiman (* 1961 in Bandung ) is an Indonesian kacapi player and composer .
Life
Ekagustdiman was born the son of the Sundanese music theorist Tatang Suryana (1934–1997). From 1974 to 1976 he learned the zither Kacapi with Mang Koko and Tatang Koswara . From 1979 he studied at the SMKI Conservatory in Bandung. From 1982 to 1989 he then studied at the ASTI Art Academy in Bandung and at the STSI in Surakarta. From 1992 to 1994 he studied with Mesías Maiguashca and Mathias Spahlinger at the Freiburg University of Music with a DAAD scholarship . In 1994 he became a lecturer in Bandung. In 2003 he worked as composer in residence at Victoria University of Wellington . His music has been performed at international festivals such as the Donaueschinger Musiktage .
